Notable highlights of their nomination include:
- development of a Community Energy Plan and a Climate Change Corporate Action Plan for the Capital Regional District;
- the Hartland Landfill gas collection and utilization project;
- a comprehensive water conservation program including full time staff, rebates, education and bylaws;
- the Regional Housing Affordability Strategy and the Housing Trust Fund which is a key implementation initiative under the Strategy; and
- recent additions to parks and forest/green space in the region.
